Cosmetic Orthodontics in Moline, IL
When your teeth are crooked or overlapping, it may cause you to feel self-conscious about your smile. When you’re not satisfied with the appearance of your smile, it’s always on your mind. Whether you avoid speaking in front of the group at work or smiling when you meet new clients, it takes its toll.
Did you know that crooked teeth also affect your oral health?
Teeth that overlap can be hard to keep clean, which puts you at risk for plaque build-up and periodontal, or gum, disease. Teeth that are crooked are also at a higher risk for fractures or other damage. When your bite is misaligned, it may contribute to headaches and a painful joint disorder known as TMJ.
You may have considered straightening your teeth, but who wants to attend the next business meeting with a mouth full of metal brackets? Most adults are put off by the idea of traditional braces. At LJ Dentistry, we have other options for you!
Invisalign and Clear Correct
Invisalign and Clear Correct are orthodontic technologies that discreetly straighten your teeth through clear plastic aligners. Dr. Jackson and Dr. Lemon will consult with you to determine if you’re a candidate for this type of treatment and which system is right for your needs.
If Invisalign or Clear Correct is in your future, your dentist will create a treatment plan to align your teeth through impressions, photos, and 3-D imaging. Your aligners are fabricated based on this plan.
You’ll need to wear your aligners for 20 to 22 hours per day, and you’ll receive new aligners every two weeks. The aligners apply gentle pressure that will gradually move your teeth over time. Most cases take 12 to 18 months to complete, and many can be completed more efficiently than with traditional braces.
What Are the Benefits of Invisalign and Clear Correct?
Your aligners are removable so they can be taken out for eating, brushing, and the occasional big event or meeting. There are no food restrictions as there are with traditional braces, and your home care routine won’t suffer because you’ll still be able to brush and floss with ease.
Because your aligners are made of clear plastic, they’re virtually invisible, allowing you to talk, smile, and participate in normal daily activities without anyone realizing you’re straightening your teeth!
Dr. Jackson and Dr. Lemon both have extensive training in using Invisalign and Clear Correct to help patients straighten their teeth. With years of combined experience in aligning teeth, you can rest assured that you’ll be pleased with your results. You’ll even be able to see what your newly aligned smile is going to look like before treatment starts.
Don’t let crooked teeth hold you back any longer. Straighter teeth and a beautiful smile are just a phone call away!
